For me hiking is about escaping, finding something in myself that I didn't know I lost. It brings out strength that I didn't know I had, and a determination to keep going no matter what.
My name is Deborah and I started hiking over 20 years ago.
I'm extraordinary because I'm ordinary. I'm not an expert. My experience comes from trial and error, and there has been a lot of error. I'm overweight, single, and mid-aged with type 1 diabetes, but I never accept defeat. My heart is determined and my mind is sure that whatever task I set, I will achieve it.
Follow me on my latest adventures.

Do you have a question about one of my hikes? Have you seen trail conditions change since I made a post? Send me a message, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
